    Axum | The Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, His Holiness Abune Mathias, announced this morning that the most prized biblical treasure in the world, the Ark of Covenant, was stolen last night from the catacombs of the Church of Our Lady Mary of Zion.  The guardians of the artefact were allegedly put to sleep through the use of chemical weapons, before the robbers entered the crypt and stole the precious Holy item.

  • Over 20,000 jailed under Ethiopia’s state decree released

    The state decree inquiry board said a total of 20,659 citizens jailed since the imposition of the decree have so far been freed after receiving renewal training, including on the constitution, rule of law and color revolution, among others.

    According to the board, 475 of the total detainees were freed on advice. The remaining nearly 5,000 suspects, however, will remain in custody to face justice.

The anonymous man, who married his new wife in all her finery, apparently saw her in his room after the wedding and refused to believe that she was his wife without her make-up on.     a statement, a spokesman for the YMCA said that the meeting invovled an “Ethiopian diaspora group” who were meeting with officials from the Ethiopian Embassy.

    The meeting was arranged with the support of the Somali community in Newport.

    He added a group of Ethiopians who oppose the present Ethiopian government arrived at the event and a dispute broke out which rapidly deteriorated into a physical confrontation.
